Everything You Got Left (Bronze): Defeat Meldrick Johnson in Champion Mode. Low Down Dirty Tricks (Bronze): Defeat Kobe Nichols in Champion Mode. It's not uncommon for the CPU to get back loads of stamina even if they missed a ton of punches in the previous round.Successfully complete one of the following tasks to get a trophy:Ī Champion Emerges (Bronze): Defeat Isaac Frost in Champion Mode. the CPU typically gets back ridiculous amounts of stamina, especially if they're using a boxer with high stamina, conditioning, and/or endurance. Also, your punches do more damage the higher your stamina is, which is even more incentive to not throw wild punches and look for single punch counter opportunities. Just like in real life, not every boxer in the game is designed to box like Mike Tyson or Rocky Marciano. ![]() If you're playing with the HUD on, definitely keep an eye on your stamina and whenever it gets low let your guy step back and catch his breath. On top of that it also drains your stamina fast and low stamina + receiving a hard counter usually = stun state or knockdown. This gives your opponent a chance to light you up. If you input too many punches at once too quickly, a lot of times you lose control of your boxer briefly while he tries to catch up with your button presses. And control/flow - as in not getting carried away with throwing too many punches at one time. Timing - as in quick reflexes to take advantage of an opening or counter opportunity, even if it's just a quick jab. Range - as in figuring out how close you need to be to hit your opponent & how far you need to be to make them miss more easily. Head movement - as in moving your head side to side and leaning back effectively. I would say a few of the pivotal things are head movement, range, timing, and control/flow. I can't really offer much advice other than practice, practice, practice. I don't think this game has even had an update since like 2013, if that. I don't think they've changed anything in the past 5 years. Even though he blocked maybe 7 out of my 10 punches there, I got him to open up by thinking I am swinging for the fence about to get desperate. Also Big George is an animalįacing an aggressive Tyson online, worked my defense as much as you can (sometimes you just get swarmed) until the fourth, then decided to open up on him to get him to throw. Right punch, right time, right amount of power. Timed his rhythm and spacing and just waited for my shot.Īn example of a shot getting through, despite his guard up, and moving. The One-Two I am talking about, a killer with power punches going deep into rounds.Īnother One-Two. Here is a good example of me against a Tyson online, notice how that last punch he threw was slow and weak, that tells me his stamina took a dip, power shot time. Landing strikes off an opponents missed punch while maintaining good distance and standing in the same spot is faster and chains combos easier together, especially if you made them miss off head movement alone and did not put up your guard. Don't block as much and move your head more without moving the left stick away or towards your opponent when striking. Once you come to terms with how bad the AI is, now you can practice combos, moving around. Combos in this game are the key to catching Ws online, or catching Ls trying to dance with the CPU. Watch the health and damage a simple one two combo can do. Lead jab.power off hand straight.lead jab.power off hand straight. Once you see how terrible they are, just spam left right hook after they miss or get the their punch blocked four times in a row. He is doing what I told you in step one, resetting. Turn the health and stamina bars on and notice that the stamina of the CPU causes the fighter to take a step back. Practice resetting with the block trigger. However the AI in this game has terrible distance management. Your block only can do so much, and shit does get through depending on the direction of you moving, the strike they throw, your stamina, your guard, height. When blocking, you must reset pressing the right trigger after one or a few punches land/miss you. ![]() Stand in the middle of the ring and do not move. Stand and stop moving around, when you throw, hold the left stick away, or towards your opponent, that will give you a direction command into a strike. Spam power left straight to body when CPU pisses you off. That is why when you throw a combo and the first two miss/blocked, the third might land but it is whack. Period, missing punches whiffs stamina, you boxer can only throw so many combos before needing to "reset". ![]()
